In Dota, when a Hero comes out, it’s natural to be violent. From this, balance patches can be released and adjusted from the Valve side. We waited almost 1 year for Ring Master, but it didn’t happen as expected. This hero has not been nerfed as much as I thought, but it has become almost uninteresting in the pub. It has reached the 79th place in the Popularity Rank, and the Win Rate is only 47.3%. Let’s see together with us what made a Ringmaster fall like this.
Ringmaster Nerf
This is something that no Hero can avoid. Ringmaster, which was thought to be slightly OP at launch, has been nerfed in each patch. This was nerfed even worse in the last patch, 7.37d. Three out of four spells were nerfed, and the max set-up duration of the Ultimate, Wheel of Wonder, was reduced. Due to this situation, the win rate decreased and the pick rate also dropped.
Facets and Aghanim’s Scepter not yet included
It can be assumed that not having a Scepter called the Blue Stick is not a big problem, but not having Facets is a big weakness as a Support Hero. Since this is for a new Hero, we can understand, but it has been over 2 months and they haven’t been able to add Facets, which is a question of Valve’s way of working. As for other Supports Heroes, we can discuss what Facets to take, but for Ringmaster, this aspect is still unclear.
Not being flexible
This is one of the main reasons why RM is less popular. Valve released it only because they needed a Sup Hero, and there was no concept. For example, heroes like Muerta, Marci and Hoodwink are support heroes, but they can be played as Carry or in the late game. Or you can play a convenient role from the beginning of the game. (I don’t change roles too much in pro matches). As mentioned above, Ringmaster does not have a skill set that can be used to switch roles, and in the late game transition, it is convenient to continue playing as Sup. Since Patch 7.38 will be released in the next few days, we hope that a Ringmaster named Cogliostro Kettle will get enough buffs in this patch.
